Crazy that the lightweights are so derated that they have no power.
I would think a nice powered lightweight driven with a light foot would produce the most efficient MPGs .

You are right it would, the key would be having the right driver who knew how to maximise such an efficient package.
What percentage of drivers at these large fleet companies would meet that criteria?. I suspect the vast majority wouldn't know or even care and the bottom line, fuel costs, would reflect that so out comes the laptop and down goes the power.FLYMIKEXL Thanks this. -
Yes, also if you do chose to come to prime, do your orientation in salt lake city, if you live in the west coast they'll let you, it's way less people and a lot more relaxed, there was only 19 people in my orientation, most of us were experienced drivers but there was 3 brand new non cdl holding rookies

The lightweights have less fuel efficiency than the full size tractors, the lightweights are used because they can haul more crap

#### I'm in Pennsylvania I wonder if they will foot the bill for a drive that long lol that's like a week long trip on greyhound
-
I thought I read a post that new hires didn't have a choice and had to take a lightweight. It would be good to clarify if it is standard Prime policy to give a choice or whether it is down to fleet managers and what is available.

I'm good either way 4 cents pay raise is cool with me lol
-
I would rather the 4 cents also, but it is still good to get clarification in case anyone else wants to know.

They do give you a choice, I flew to orientation and got reimbursed for it. Don't be afraid to email a recruiter and ask them to put it in writing, mine did. I would not take a greyhound, even amtrak is a way better choice. They have a terminal in Pittston see if you can do orientation there
Redtwin Thanks this. -
