very hard to get a full size as a company driver. If your flatbed I don't think you get a lightweight but you still wont get a studio they now have the trucks without the top bunk.

I used to have a "mini" prostar. The ONLY reason I took it, and the only reason i would take one ever, was because I was home every weekend. There is no way I could live in those mini cascadias for a month at a time. or however long prime makes y'all stay out for. I see prime drivers in them all the time. and I just say, wow, thats a small truck. None of them seem happy, they're just like, yeah, more money. but man, they're small.

its a a truck with a tiny bunk. Prime uses them so they can haul heavier loads at the expense of driver comfort.

does anyone know what the actual weight savings are over a traditional condo-bunk Cascadia?

yeah, by removing the seat you'd actually have enough space to finally have a place to fit your bag of lunch.

The result was a combination tractor-trailer that would hold a 49,000 pound payload.

    AND................

The engine is smaller and the speed is governed at 57 MPH

    http://www.truckingtruth.com/trucke...-lightweight-trucks-pictures-and-descriptions

it's no space and driving granny style worth the extra 5CPM?
I guess it's up to each persons weight of viewing the positives and negatives

I think the real reason the passenger seat was removed is so Mr. Fat truck driver has enough space to step into his bunk without getting stuck inbetween seats of the tiny truck lol

I'm looking for current data. Those cascadias have got to weigh around 16-17000 with the apu and emission equipment. Combine that with a 14-15000 trailer and you can still haul around 48-49000lb. I swear I heard someone say that they could haul around 50K.
