I use a Kodak ESP all in one unit. It has been in my truck for about a year with no issues at all. I chose the Kodak because the ink cartridges are the least expensive on the market.

We use TransFlo to scan in our paperwork and, using the TransFlo Now software I am able to do that right from the truck instead of finding a truck stop that has TransFlo.

GASP! I was thinking to myself the other day - "now why can't we just install the Transflo software on our own computer and scan stuff in ourselves assuming we have internet access..."

You may have changed my life!

I have been asking around and something I have been told is to be sure waterproof ink is available for the inkjet printer you choose. Cannon has it don't know about HP or the others yet. This will go a long way in keeping your printed documents readable in the harsh enviroment of a truck.

Check with your company to make sure you can use it. I am not certain but the company may have to sign up for it.

I have a wireless printer requiring NO messy or smelly expensive ink or toners it prints at any temperature producing FULL SIZE LEAGLE copies with long lasting 7 year rated fine quality, a fax machine, scanner and wireless Internet laptop with built in web cam for those chats with the wife and kids, also a external hard drive for backups and document storage also a external optical drive for running other programs and watching movies! all installed inside a standard size lockable, hardened and inside padded water resistant briefcase that you can even sit on ( at least I can at 230 pounds) without damaging anything inside and all self powered with a 7 hour rechargeable battery life. All the equipment can be run in the case on your lap or on the coffee table in the restaurant while inside the case without problem weight is 8.7 pounds. The printer has no moving print head so vibration causes no damage. The "KIT" is easily stored taking up little room in the cab. I use it for DDL logs (looks cool in the scale house for DOT log inspections! reminds me of OO7) but you could use it for anything else you need to. Fax to the office no problem, Its a complete office in a briefcase!. I have posted links for the various components in a prior DDL thread post here on the forum in the electronic section if you are interested in viewing them The thread link is http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ivers/30222-drivers-daily-log-software-8.html and its post #75 (DISCLAIMER) I do not sell this stuff I use it myself. I have used the equipment now for some time without any problems all the equipment together costs less then a good quality laptop alone would cost everything is name brand with good warranties. All these components were bought by me off the shelf at retail price for my personal use only! As you can see by the attached photos here it will be mighty hard for you to find a printer and scanner smaller then these ones!

(cut and pasted for your viewing) I now have a laptop computer (this model http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Sku=T32-110001 with Internet card running the DDL software, a copier (this model-http://alatest.com/popup/pic_gallery/1823/#videos, a scanner This model- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?Sku=A333-1072and fax machine- http://www.fax.com/index.jsp and mounted it inside this http://www.officemax.com/catalog/sku...^return_skus~Y I am quite sure that this tool kit wont take up much room in a cab of a truck!. The whole thing needs no inverters or external power to run, battery lasts 7+ hours on a charge, and is completely portable . Dimensions are Height: 11.75", Width: 17", Depth: 2.25" and weighs less then 9 pounds total cant get much smaller then that! (I know.... too much time on my hands!) but you have to admit it was quite a feat of engineering! James Bond would be proud! LOL! I also E Mailed Bruce at DDL and asked him to view this kit and advise me if he thought it would be compliant at a DOT inspection. His response was....."Yes the “Kit” seems to work well for you. " (DISCLAIMER) I am not advertising endorsing or selling these listed components or services I receive no benefit by sharing them here, I only list them for interested drivers that might want to review and use all or some of these components for themselves . All these components are off the shelf bought by me at full retail price for my needs and use only. I took many hours to find these products, research and read reviews before I picked up this stuff. I didn't want to have my truck cab space filled up with LARGE size components. I figured it might save a driver some time, and much needed cab space! Besides, it makes a cool office on wheels!
