Per the title...I have found a pristine Jackson...early version with the silver face.
Worth messing with or leave it alone?
Went to pick up my truck at Cummins Crosspoint in Louisville KY last week and my Stryker radio and all accessories were gone...coax hanging. I appreciate they left my power cord and the ext speaker plug. On a related note, beware of this shop. Gates are not monitored. No security cameras (2nd shift service manager Chris informed me that they had called "someone" about some cameras back some time ago) and my consolation for dealing with his shop was leaving my truck unlocked and unsecured after service and driving it to the back of the lot and PULLING it in away from view of the shop bay doors rather than backing it in. He also made me feel so much better by telling me that I was not the only one that had lost stuff out back in his yard. He had to run the same guy out of the yard 3 times one evening. Another guy just lost his cb radio too. I should not feel bad.
I kid not. Unbelievable response from a place that I thought was a reputable Cummins repair shop. I have used them many times in my trucking past. Not a call...not a word from them about rectifying this.
Back on subject...I hijacked my own thread...this President Jackson...should I open it up or leave it be? Also, anyone know anything about the Carlisle Petro radio guys?

I'd just open it for channels if needed, most were imported with the channels but not all.BTW, there were a few later runs of the Jackson with the silver faceplate as well as some bootleg and look-a-like Jacksons with the silver faceplate.
The Truckist Thanks this. -
Thanks Mad Dog. This is definitely earlier vintage. I know from whence it came. But in the past hour or so since posting this I scored a Stryker SR447HPC with a Predator antenna, an Astatic 631L mic, a frequency counter and a big Cobra external speaker from a gent that decided he didn't want to truck anymore. Maybe I'll leave the Jackson pristine.
