Use any device capable of transmitting
or receiving a person’s voice to aid in
the hunting or taking of deer.
Now, the only place I saw it was in the deer hunting section. But it could be elsewhere in the regs. -
I used to work for a company that used motorola business band radios. They had tremendous range and were very clear. A lot easier to understand than a typical CB radio. They would easily reach 5 miles and some days they would reach up to 20 or more. There's no static, they just cut off if its not picking up. Of course you have a private channel, but occasionally we did hear other people on our channel but we drove all over the state. They cost a lot of money though, I think around $800 plus getting them installed and programmed.

There is a 19a channel (27.195 MHz)) between 19 and 20. I don’t know anybody that uses it, and you’d have to have somebody program your radio to the correct frequency, but it would be fairly private. Also note that it is questionable if it is legal to transmit on 19a. It is within the legal cb frequency range, but it’s not a assigned channel.

Like wveryone else said id go get your ham license technician class($15 and some studying) get a cheap $100-200 mobile uhf/vhf radio with antenna and you should be able to find a frequency you are legal on that isnt being used. You can setup tones so its harder for just anyone to pop in - not impossible
