Only controls I ever would want on the steering wheel is the cruise and air horns. I know KW did that in the late 90's early 2000's with the smart wheel. Besides that, I don't need any of it.

I can't find the thread, but I recall one driver calling them overpriced tupperware. :biggrin_2551: He didn't care for the steering wheel controls either.

I dont want to start a fight, but isnt it just a little embarrassing for a driver not to know what engine he has in his truck?

The type of engine should be obvious with the first pre trip.

Lol you will be amazed at the number of drivers I come across that doesn't know what make or horse power his truck has.

One driver driving an 9700 international with a 430hp celect told me when I asked him what motor he had that it was an international engine with 500hp.

Just remember how many people never looked under a hood before they went off to CDL school and became drivers.

Not knowing is one thing, we all had to learn.
But not having the interest in knowing is another thing.

How do you do a pre trip without opening the hood, how do you check the oil, the water, the PS fluid, the belts, look for exhaust leaks, Check your front brakes?

If you raise the hood you should see the brand of engine right away. You cannot do a proper pre trip without raising the hood.

Sad, isn't it? I run into drivers almost every day that do not have a clue what is under the hood.
