We only use Hunter machines too. I saw this Pro-Trac on the internet and kinda giggled. I have see these type before where you just hang a laser over the side of the tire. They would get you in the ball park, that was about it.

    tony97905 Thanks this.

If it did balance to zero why use the centramatics?
I swear by the tape weights and a well calibrated balencer , and or a on vechicle spin balencer.
Now if the vibration is in the rear of the seat or at the floor look else were, drive shaft or rear tires.

Seriously a 6 degree shim?? If you needed that must of a castor change you have a bent axle or the tech/ machine was hosed! A 2 degree castor wedge is about a 1/2 inch thick. I think they took you up to 6 degrees castor is what you mean.

When you check castor the most important part is the difference between the 2 sides. It's referred to as cross castor. Ideally you want the difference to be zero. I will let as much as .05 degrees difference go but after that it has to be fixed.

    A SIX DEGREE!?
    WTF?
The bigest i have ever seen is a 4 Degree or 4x4 is what i have herd them called.
But if you havent been in a wreck or anything like that chances are that the axle shifted and or you rear axles are out. Also tire wear from a previous condition will make a truck pull and you need to flip the one tire around to neutralize the pull after all adjustments are done :):biggrin_25525:

What they did was put a 3 degree on one side and also put a 3 degree on the other side backwards for a total of 6 degrees

    No for my UPDATE!!!
took it to have it done they said all my spring bushings are gone front axle and rear even the shackle on the top side is gone needs rear shocks and one wheel bearing on the front needs adjustment $2,700 worth of work

one week after finding this out i hit a deer and the truck is still in the shop the bumber got into the tire cut it and also broke the shim in the frontend

So if anyone knows a better place in houston,tx to do a alignment let me know i would love to find someone closer

Pro-Trac = a joke. Every star and moon must be in line for this contraption to work as advertised, and yes, I have used it. In fact, when I took over the Service Dept I no longer performed alignments because the Pro-Trac system was basically worthless and impossible to "prove" results to a customer.

Hey I know this is a old tread but In Houston I used these guy http://qualitymultiserv.com with good results . They check the truck with vis check for free and tell you what's wrong with it. Prices were reasonable . I haven't been there in a while cause I don't go to houston anymore hope this helps .
