Sure do. We are a Mom & Post operation and are looking for a driver for a show tour. We can't seem to find anyone interested and then we face the problem of trying to get them qualified with all the new regs. It is a 5 month tour and I realize that is a long time but they are what they are.

Drivers need benefits like health insurance and retirement. It's understandable small companies can't afford to offer benefits, but they need to compensate the driver so they can get it on their own. Otherwise it would be foolish for a 2 year driver to go the OO route. You put yourself in the position of attracting problem drivers without an attractive package. Or if you could, you can hire newbies on the cheap and let them tear your stuff up.

we do offer a package and they just told me they could probably be ok with 6 months recent if everything was a clean clean clean record

Mr. Thompson, I'll just sum up what you have discovered:

Any good driver who wants a job already has a job.

Can you go after some of our brave men and women coming back from the military? You may have to work hard with your insurance company to accept their military driving experience, but this might be a something to check out.
