I literally just paid thousand to find this problem, countless days of down time at the Volvo stealership not counting hotels and food. Your situation is identical to mine. Start at batteries- check all cable/ connections, make sure batteries are stacked properly and test each battery separately under a load after fully charging. If that is not the issue follow all the wires to the alternator. Test the alternator to make sure it’s good. Check every wire/connection. Including signal wire. Make sure no wires are corroded or crimped.
If this is not the issue go straight to the starter. Same thing check all connection. Right no corrosion.follow the wire to the back of the fire wall of the truck. I spent all that darn money and it won’t up being the fuse linkage (50 bucks). Essentially for the kind of draw it’s gotta be something big causing the issue. Hope this helps. Do not let Volvo screw you like they did me. If you need them to do the work you find the problem first. Walk in and specifically tell them what u want done. Not a single thing more
