Or pretend you're going to hire him, call Rip and Jip and get a job reference - then you'll know what they're saying. Just be sure to use a phone they can't figure out who it is.
I've done it in the past to verify what the past employer is saying and it's been good to know - so maybe you CAN "forget" he ever worked there...
Problems with employment history- please advise

I had this issue with a company many years ago.
I resolved the problem with a quick trip to a lawyer and $75.
Not to mislead you in any way. I have used this lawyer for many years. I simply asked for a cease and desist letter on the Attorneys letter head, stating that if the former employer provided any further false information, I would be bringing a law suite against him.
Worked like a charm.
While some might say that won't work...cuz you don't know what he said. I say, it's worth the money to see if they back down. -
love your analogy of staying at a holiday express.as for the recording you can record someone with out their knowledge and it can be used as evidence for and or against a person.doing something illegal justifies the action.how do you think people get busted from talking to an informant who is wired.im sure the informant does not tell the person of suspicion "oh by the way im wired and i'm recording you ".think about it and yes motel 6 did leave the light on for me.

i have to agree with a previous poster and i suggest you run a DAC report and see what is on there. if it is deflamatory then do a DAC clean up and that will help you out. also spend more time at current job, like a year or so and when you leave there make sure you do as you always do and leave right and that will over ride the bad info from prevoius company. good luck

Why don't you request your free DAC copy. I just got the form off of the USIS.com website & am mailing it tonight. One ornery SOB can have a lousy day & it comes down on you. I lost a job due to this. I want to know about the skeletons in my closet. Doors are not opening for me & at least I will know what they are reading.

Slider, going by your post and reading between the lines, it seems that maybe this job you've just lost is your second trucking job. The second job let you go because of DAC baggage from your first job, which is only implied in your post. Am I reading this right? Maybe I'm not. Or did your former boss fire you just because the sky got cloudy one day?
If this job you're looking for really will be your third, and you've not gotten yet even a year in, it should be no surprise those doors aren't opening for you. Even if this job you lost is your first, leaving a company during your first year never looks good. -
Newbie question.......
You guys are talking about "forgetting" about an employer........ how does that fit in with the 10 year record of employment.......could he end up with something on his DAC (from even a potential employer) for falsifying an application if he doesn't disclose the employer?
Did that make sense? -
Tip, it reads like the first job was treating them poorly so he left. the CURRENT job(which he still has) is fine but has no benefits which is the reason for looking for a new one.

I have not yet had a trucking job. I just recently got my license. The job lost was a Water Meter Reader. I drove my own vehicle. A woman customer was irate about her water bill. I just record, I do not handle billing. She called in & made a complaint. I was told they did not have to give me a reason, & unless she recanted her complaint I was gone.
I'M kinda old & its been hard finding work. So buddy it is me but it's also the economy. I also think since it is free I should read my report & know. I have read here that sometimes these fact are wrong. -
Ahh, I see Slider. I assumed you had driven before being as you were getting a copy of the form from USIS, the parent of DAC. My bad there.
