I have used GENERAL RADIATOR with success until recently, although I have known they use lower quality cores,I had a problem with a customer radiator, called Jim asap,He told me He would get right back to me(gonna check into it)?He will never call You back. After MANY calls He finally agreed to repair it,which I returned on one of my own trucks, they did not repair it,after MANY calls they told me it was ready, picked it up,found it still no good!I called Jim again, after threatening litigation He finally agreed to send Me a replacement, again after MANY calls.I HAVE DONE MY LAST BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! And as others posted He will not cover labor or shipping!

OMG,
thank you so much for posting your issue fuelofirei faced the same prob as u. GENERAL RADIATOR. SUE THEM. i wish sb can get them out of business like u said.
i'm replacing a new radiator that i will get from volvo dealer tomorrow. really wanna cry, spent a lot of money changing almost everything until i see ur posted. thanks again -
Wished I would have read this blog before I bought a Radiator from General Radiator. I installed one of their complete new full metal radiators in my FL 70 as required when installing a new Allison automatic transmission two years ago. I have less then 5000 miles on it. Friday the transmission started acting up. I checked the oil and found it was down 7 quarts. I could not see any leaks. Started adding oil and looking for leaks when I noticed the radiator fill tank was overflowing transmission oil. I had to leave the truck, and fly home returning on Monday with tools, oil and buckets. Had to flush the transmission and by-pass the radiator oil cooler. Drove it home and called General today. Spoke with Jim who would not give me his last name. Same story as above but worse. He would not pay shipping to return the radiator, and implyed that it was not the radiator that failed. General will not pay shipping or labor and to spite the ads in the Truck Paper, and on the internet that clearly say they have a 5 year warrentee, he claims that on my particular radiator it only has a 1 year warrentee. Jim claims that they do not make my unit, and buy it from another manufacture so the 5 year warrentee is not valid. Funny it does not say that anywhere on the ads! And they never said anything about using someone elses radiator when I purchased it. These guys are crooks and it looks like I will have to sue to get any recourse. I figure I will have close to $3,000.00 in direct costs and repairs, and that is if it did not damage my new Allison transmission.

Im dealing with the same thing at this moment, they are terrible. Do your self a favor and DO NOT BUY anything from them. They have the worst customer service and they won't help you. I want to file more complaints about this company. They sell CHEAP quality products. My radiator failed within 2 months, started leaking allover. I sent them pictures, and they never care to call back and they just make you run around. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!! Use another company even if you have to pay more for a radiator, its worth it in the long run. TRUST ME. They are RIP OFFS

Just purchased a radiator from them and will never do business with this company again.first they over charged me for shipping and the radiator is leaking like a WateWaterfall. We should file a class action law suit against this company. I will be reporting them to the BBB if they are registered.

Problems with General radiator.
Ordered a radiator core from them for International truck and asked them if the could build it the way I needed it with 3/8 of an inch spacing between the tubes and 14 fins per inch. When I received the core and inspected it and was wrong. They sent me 1/2 inch spacing between the tubes and 14 fins per inch. Called John to let him know it was built the wrong way and I need the right one and got a call from some Jim there telling me he cannot build it and why i need to accept it the way they built it. I would suggest for people to think twice before buying from them, because they cannot build custom radiator cores. The stop a leak junk for those who have leaky cores, would suggest not to use because it will destroy the seals in the water pump. Eventually have a water pump leak... -
I brought a radiator from general they sended the wrong radiator with no invoice or receipt for the radiator need to send it back.
