Receiver said it’s not theirs and signed for the rest. I’d say it’s yours now and you can do whatever you want. Don’t let this become another case of a broker royally screwing a driver for free. Either get rid of it or get paid to redeliver. Soon.

Many reefer drivers have an extra freezer at the house for damages and overages.
One time I had a case of smoked hams. Expensive hams, packaged in a wooden crate. Smoked hams don't have to stay refrigerated, so I put the case in the sleeper and took it home.
I learned to do that when I found out, most of the good stuff that's returned to the terminal is taken home by the office people. -

It happens on RGN too.....not too long ago, One of my direct customers had a $250k CNC Machine come up missing. it was signed for and all that good stuff. Turns out, it was sold by someone that worked in the warehouse.

The best one I know of is when I hauled boats. One driver had an extra bass boat and took it home.
The factory was looking for a missing boat and asked all the drivers about it. They all said something like, "How could I not see an extra boat on the trailer?" Finally they figured some thief came on the property and took it. I don't think the driver ever used the boat. For the driver it was like revenge for being wronged in the past.Last edited: Aug 31, 2022
