Still gonna need extra board for vacations and stuff. I would say 10% of fleet on extra (the amount allowed off at any given time per policy) board.

What I could see happening is a rolling extra though to match up with program vacations. Haven't heard that but it would not surprise me. Frito Lay had a system like that before.

I think you have it nailed pretty good. 30% assigned 5 day 10% flex/extra and the rest will be some combo of 5/2 5/3 or 6/3.

I want a 5/2 5/3 or 6/3 at least at some point I will get weekend off and not have to change trucks in the middle of the week. Pay will take a hit but if I want I can extend.

My gut says 30-30- 30-10 on the splits. Everyone is still on outside bids, and peak. Figure we will start getting leaks about mid-Jan to give folks time to bid on re-alignment.

What's the best program earning wise...?

I don't mind this 5/2-5/3 but I just feel cheated specially while running the roc. Seems I keep getting these horrible runs. I'd really like a 6/3. These miles if you aren't running at least 3 loads a day then idk....I just don't know. Longest run was a vendor load from west of buffalo to Lewiston 600+ but lately it's been 75-92 one way with an empty turn back but then a short one or something. Must be me and the way I'm doing these ETD or I'm just so low on the totum pole but I thought this new system didn't go by seniority or is that not until the new realignment happens?

6/2 was best IMHO. As for the runs right now it is that time of year.
Been a ton of stow load and back. Short hops. Loads not ready. Now this week we will all be on hurry up and wait status.

Nature of the beast. Just keep your EYE accurate as you can. Shoot we never see a 600 mile run. Maybe a 350-400. Just turn and burn down here for activity.

The 5/2 5/3 and the 6/3 programs both have the same number of working days in a year, so they are a wash.

Yea and no. Those 6th days are probably going to be shorter hours wise. When your on a 6 day you really have to watch to keep 10-12 hours when possible (a week of grocery loads will screw that up quick). Without hours to run that 6th day is worthless. And you can not always save hours. See comment about gro loads.

This is another reason I don’t sweat extensions.

Most I’ve ever finished 5 days With is 15 hours.

I usually go into a 6th day with 12 or so.

It ain’t like they’re going to drag out your 6th day a full 14 hours.

It always seems like a monumental thing, and oh yeah, I whine too sometimes but after it’s over it’s no sweat at all.
