It can be if he has steady work. I did it up in ND in the oil fields for two years at Turner Gas. I bought my current truck to do just that. I now haul auto parts in Michigan with it. A bit of an overkill, but it pays the bills. Me and Snailexpress both worked there, and correct, very seasonal, the reason I haul auto parts.

Just curious, where are you based out of?
Here in the midwest region, the rates depend alot on the company you're with. Theres good and bad rates everywhere. We do well in my area. -
