Wear good clothes , clothes you would work in ( SHOES TOO ) , your wife , slacks , jeans , not shorts , as far as shoes , decent work boots , with plenty of ankle support , double clutching is hard on the knees and ankles to begin with , and it would be bad to get grease / oil all over good new sneakers. Clean shaven , or trimmed hair cut , hair up for the wife ( pre / post trip inspections are easier ) most important of all clean hands AND trimmed nails. Nothing screams " I'm a bum " louder than filthy hands , and crud - crusted long finger nails man or woman.

Wear light shoes - NOT sandals or anything open toed. Boots are a killer if you are not used to them... added with the need to be able to feel your feet do properly double clutch.

For you jeans and a collared shirt are fine. I personally wear boots all the time so that will be up to you.

For your wife, this will do...

Roadmaster as a school has been good to me so far. Nothing to complain about yet. You have got to pay attention however. I did not study anything going into school but listened to the instructors like a slave and I had my permit by the second day of class. They know what they're talking about but they also are there for the people who want to learn. If you want to joke around they will not babysit you, it's up to you to learn. I'm watching people who won't study, don't listen, and sleep through class fail their tests over and over. It is what you make it. I've got a thread going to show my continuing progress with them I think you've already found but here's the link anyway: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/threads/roadmaster-indy.288631/

As far as the business side of the school, I'm currently in the middle of some shady promises and finance confusion. Working that out now. I won't say anything about the situation until it's resolved as I don't want to trash anyone's name for an honest mistake, we'll see how it turns out.

My opinion? Dress for success. Do you want to be taken serious? Dress like a professional you'll act like a professional. You are not on vacation.
    Just my 2 cents.

Are you there to learn how to drive a truck or are you there for a fashion show? As long as you're clean it doesn't matter.

Clean jeans, a clean t-shirt and black shoes/boots is sufficient enough. You don't need a 3 piece suit. Just don't look and smell like you haven't showered in years.

Wear clean, comfortable, presentable clothes, and bring a set of coveralls and work gloves to do the truck inspections.
