Dress like a professional blue collar worker. Good pair of shoes/boots, good clean pair of jeans, a good clean shirt with a collar and tuck it in. Wear a belt. Comb your hair. Keep vulgar language to the barest minimum.

If you look and act professional, even if your not, people will be induced into thinking that your are a professional. This simple act will give you a leg up on all the other buffoons that go into this trade.

Clean clothes is a safe bet. Take a shower etc. It's not difficult. I don't know who you think you'll be impressing with your attire. It's truck driving not wall street.

If you like yourself then dress like it, as above, don’t like yourself then dress like a bum!

My school did have a dress code: Sleeved shirts (tee shirt was ok watch what is on it), long pants & work boots even in class. As for school not seeing or passing on how you dress I think is BS. If you are Dress for success and the rest are not the school will take notices as you stood out and when an employer calls looking for a driver the school will think of you first. Remember you are the person the employer will see that the school has to offer and if you don’t look the part of a good driver that employer will look elsewhere.

Me I wore Dickies work pants black to not show dirt, steel toe work boots tied, plain colored Tee or long sleeve work shirt & good gloves for PTI. This is the same thing I wear to job interviews so if they want to put me to work I can.

I was at orientation last week for my new job and out of 5 of us all but 1 were dressed to start work (sleeved shirt/long pants/work boots) the 1 guy had shorts/deck shoes/tee shirt and he had to do a driving test too! Again not the way to show up for work at a trucking Co. in my book.

    HAHAHAHA
This is a valid question. Especially after browsing some of the questions in this section for the last few years.
"Can I bring my skis?", "Can I bring my rowboat?", "Can I bring my gas grille when training?", "Can I fit my big screen TV in the sleeper with my trainer?" "Will a Steamer Trunk fit in the side compartment?", "Is there a place in my trainers truck for my Golf Clubs?"
    Attire is a valid question.

    TripleSix and scottlav46 Thank this.

I'd rather someone ask this question instead of showing up in pajamas.

Simple, dress like a blue collar worker going to a blue collar job. Be clean, but look like your ready to work.

I have a one arm tan, and should be wearing a sleeveless shirt with one long sleeve.

you hear people complain about pay and McDonalds wages. If you showed up to work at McDonalds in a wifebeater, sweatpants (you will even see some fools get out of trucks wearing pajamas) and flip flops, what do you think would happen?

What would you do if you went into a restaurant, and the staff is wearing wifebeaters, sweatpants and flip flops?
