You are 100% right on the sweat pants. They keep my nice and cozy. I have sandals when I drive but when I get out of the truck, I like to keep it fancy with my black Reebok tennis shoes By the way, I had to get a rental car from the airport today. I went in my sweatpants. I was very comfortable the entire time. And not only was I extremely comfortable the whole time, but I have to admit that after having read this thread the night before, the thought of my sweatpants triggering somebody in the area put a great big smile on face as well. Kind of like this, Gary:
I don’t really care what I wear or what anyone else wears. My standard attire is jeans and a untucked t shirt. It’s a rare occasion if I wear anything different. I am the president of a multimillion dollar company too and I dress like this at work all the time. People do business with us because of the quality of our work not because we look like fashion models. Last time I wore something other than jeans and a t shirt was at my moms funeral back in June.
After reading this thread I think I might just wear sweatpants for the rest of my life for every single day that I'm driving a truck, weather permitting of course.
I agree it's no one's business but theirs and their company. I would never tell a stranger how to dress. I disagree with it not affecting anyone else. As a group truck drivers have demanded less and less respect over time and therefore receive less respect. It all about public perception.
I know a couple guys that do food service delivery who wear those overcoats, more to keep themselves clean from spillage than anything.
