Going downhill you definitely want to be progressive shifting, down by one or half step, nice and slow, light break application hold her down, don't double/triple tap, rpm low, JAKE ON! Enjoy and have funThis is fun truckin', flat terrain is a snore man! Driving out West is a haul of a good time!
Proper method of downshifting/slowing down

With 18 speed I've never wasted time splitting down when coming to a stop. Just ran it like a 9.

This is the best video I’ve seen on 10 speeds, and driving smaller engines in trucks. I had to drive this Ryder Daycab with an 8.9L Cummins and a 10 speed, and this video really helped. -
You know watchin' all these shifting videos just really makes me wanna hit the road. I miss truckin'. It's really too bad it's such a deplorable disaster.

Well I didn’t get the job... The boss took me out for a drive in a 9 speed that was beat up and I had no idea how to shift the thing. Couldn’t feel where the shifter was at all I thought it would be easy basically using only 8 gears but I couldn’t even drive the thing. Was told I’m not a good fit for the company. Why would they try to have me drive some old beat up 9 speed when I told them I hardly have 10 speed experience. I can drive a 10 speed but this POS 9 speed is a joke. I give up driving for a living have fun

I’m done giving truckers respect on the road it’s back to cutting you off and flipping the bird #### trucks

That being said, your reaction seems a bit childish and over reactive don't you think? Because you met someone who was not very nice you then decided to blame all truckers for it. Really? Maybe it is best that you don't make trucking a career, as you don't seem to have to mind set for it.
Sadly my friend, life is full of up's and down's and if this is how you are going to react when things don't go the way you want them to, well, you are going to have a pretty sad and miserable life ... and there is only one person to blame for that ... and it ain't truckers!
All the best.Canadianhauler21, BigHossVolvo, 650cat425 and 3 others Thank this.
