Proper or best way to ask truckers to buy there free shower.

I will ask them about the team driver shower ticket if I end up hitting them up for a ticket when I know they are going to the shower or what not. Thanks for the advice barroll.

 

Well hopefully I won't be needing help for much longer I'm expecting maybe my unemployment will kick in this week still waiting for the "review" and also to hear back about that job sometime this week. But in staying around the North Little Rock area of Arkansas though I move around sleeping at different places every night or couple of nights to not draw attention to myself. Walmarts, truck stops with spaces out back or lots of parking haven't given me a problem yet thankfully. Thank you for the kind words I am doing my best to not trouble anyone else with my problems it is hard for me to even accept the shower ticket I took the other day. I guess I feel there are people in worse spots than me and they could use the help more? Thanks again.

 

Team shower, I've done it before for a homeless kid who said had an interview. Just hit yes for Co driver and he got his own shower and I had an extra bar of soap I gave him.

 

Doesn't cost you a thing or use an extra shower.

 

Ask a driver who has a day cab, a tractor without a sleeper. I have about 5 showers earned on average but will never use them since I am home every night.I always gladly give them away when asked. Best of luck in your future.

 

Just to give everyone a update things have been going well, mostly I have been 50 / 50 on asking people, I got the job and its going well one nice thing my work is only 5 min from the truck stop I have been showering at. Only a little over a week until my first paycheck and I should be moving into a place my friend is helping me get through there friend. Really appreciate the info and I did get one driver to get a team shower ticket. Thanks again.

 

Some who most likely help, are afraid of what if. Since the shower system is now linked to their card, if the person trashes the shower , or steals the towels , it comes back to them. Not implying you would do anything like that, but at that point they do not know you from Adam .

Good luck in your new job ! Just ask if anyone has an extra shower credit you could have ! No shame,no explanation. Over the years I have prob "lost" more showers than I can remember. The coffee was a nice gesture,,but most guys need to roll....peace.

 

My friend,,, you have but to ask. I really doubt anyone would ask you for money for a shower. Every time you buy 50 gallons of fuel ( which a driver will certainly burn Every DAY), you get a free shower added to your card. Drivers don't have time to take a shower every day. Maybe you will run into a person that can't spare one that day, but someone out there will.
Since you have a CB, that will be a great way to make an announcement. (Channel 19 is probably the best). Just say what you said here and be clear about the situation. I did not see where you indicated your gender, but if you are a girl, be sure you are not mistaken for a "lady of the evening".
Most of the drivers that I have met are great people and will want to help you... If I was there, I would help you.
