I get my Ariat Workhogs for roughly $150. Depending on where I buy them from I have have picked them up for as cheap as $119. Alot of stores sell them for over $200. The VenTEK version adds more money. I have a pair of the VenTEK's for daily, non-work wear and they are excellent though if you shop online like I do there are plenty of deals out there right now for boots.

Huge ariat fan but they are overpriced for what you get. The bottom tread wears quickly on the work boot styles and can’t get more than a year from them and they are still made in China. I still wear and buy them but I’ll jump ship if I can find something better.
That said I’m always on all 4s tarping loads my first 6 months or so since I was scared of heights and a fat ###.farmerjohn64 and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
HATED the ventek. The foam to circulate air doesn’t conform to your foot like leather does. It keeps the boot feeling more like an insulated snow boot rather than a perfectly contoured leather boot. Felt like they never broke in.singlescrewshaker Thanks this.

Man
Man, sorry to hear that about the VenTEK's. I have several pairs and they are awesome for me. Now, when it comes to my daily, work pair that I drive in and chain and strap in I wear a pair of Ariat Workhogs with the composite toe or another pair with a steel toe.
I think maybe the VenTEK's you have might have been sewn together incorrect or something is out if place. Might try in another pair just a half size bigger than you normally would wear just to make sure.singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Maybe. To be fair they always felt a little tight. Anyway I wear workhogs rarely but always wear these.

It truly amazes me how many people out here on the road are in gawd-dammeded flip flops. I simply cannot drive like that and I don't think it should even be legal. I don't know what the rule is for wearing footwear like that but flip flops should not be allowed.
I can just see a pasty steering wheel holder jumping out of the truck with loose mesh shorts, flip flops and a tank top and grabbing the fire extinguisher to run to the back of the trailer to put out a brake fire or axle gear oil fire and prevent the trailer and the load from going up into flames.farmerjohn64, MACK E-6, singlescrewshaker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I like the Roughstock's. They will be my next set of boots for suresinglescrewshaker Thanks this.
