Agree China. Just that this guy can't drive a CAR without CRIMINAL infractions. Is this the guy you want driving next to YOUR kids?
lagbrosdetmi, Chinatown and Giuseppe Ventolucci Thank this. -
Playing devils advocate here; we all have been young and dumb...
-
I've been young and dumb. I have NOT been so young and dumb to think that my CRIMINAL RECORD for RECKLESS DRIVING means nothing.
I'm having to explain my stupidity from over 20 years ago to every prospective employer without a single infraction in 30 years.
The OP wants to go into commercial driving with two RECENT criminal infractions. Anyone here here who would bet their OWN butts on the likelihood that he won't do something stupid raise your hands.Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this. -
how long did it take to see some light and know it wasn't another train at the end of tunnel ?Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this.
-
Not too long. Just got in trouble once or twice, was in probation then I decided it was time to change and grow up
-
Stop.. just stop... with your demands and background.. just stop thinking about this industry
lagbrosdetmi Thanks this. -
First I've got to say you're smart for checking before you put out any money. But the news is not good. You're going to have a very hard time finding a job with 2 reckless driving tickets so close together. The companies look at your driving record and check for tickets like you have for 3 years back. Once you get three years clean the job search will ease up some.
There's plenty of companies up in your area. I know there's a couple of companies in Kearny so you might look around there to check. Just be sure you've checked with DMV about your tickets and see if there's anything you can do. If they give a slightest hope I would get legal involved to see what they could do. If you could reduce any of those 2 tickets you'd have a better chance of getting hired. Continue with what you're doing by checking before paying anyone for training. Even if a recruiter tells you no problem you can get hired here, check and re-check to make sure. Never trust a recruiter. -
Ya I'm planning to go to DMV and getting my drivers abstract, then looking/calling companies and asking them if there is hope. I just realized this morning those two tickets might have actually been careless driving instead of reckless, but it doesn't change the accidents I have had either way.
I'm trying to be realistic with my situation, despite how disappointing it is. If OTR and class a work is difficult to come by, how other options would there be? Would class b work be any easier to find despite no experience? -
Where do you work that a single ticket (even for reckless driving) from "over 20 years ago" still requires an explanation? Or should I say where are you applying if you have to explain it to "every prospective employer".
I have pretty much the exact same record as you- my record comes up spotless at EVERY single company I've ever applied to. And that includes some of the best of the best.
I'm not doubting you, I just don't understand how 2 people, with similar backgrounds, have such different results. I get bumped to the front of the class because my driving record is so good. Crazy industry I guess
