I know my math skills suck! I'm sure I'd average 6.5-7 with that old Detroit. With a van and not having a roof fairing I'd think it would be 5.5-6! At 55-60 she should turn some real low RPMs hopefully not lugging low at least 1300-1400. Whatever money I have left I want to get a set of chicken lights for the sleeper, new quarter fenders, and stainless mudflap mounts and weights along with new black mudflaps. Also would like to get some toggle extenders and parking brake controls, them silver ones. That is all the customization I want to do to the truck. I just want to make her look pretty and different.

Oh yeah I had a major brain fart! There is just too much space between the fairing and quarter fender so I got to have some lights on there to liven her up. I think I got two 150's and the fairings stop at the end of the fuel tanks. It originally had full fairings on it but they vibrated lose or something so they took them off. They wanted to take them all the way off but couldn't figure out how.

What Bronc said. Missed out on a 628 mile load paying $3900 yesterday due to height constraints but just got back from an $18,000 load going North. Steady customer that loads from a dock. No reason it wouldn't go on a step, they just won't do it.

Atleast you got a better paying load though! I don't see why some companies are picky about a step deck.

everything would lead you to believe that $500 a day is easy, that you can get 2 of those short $3/mile loads a day until you get to the first shipper at 7am to find 10 trucks ahead of you or your freight is not ready or they do not know where it is or it is burried or all of these
OK so now it is 11am you are loaded strapped and maybe tarped and on your way, on the way you find your return load call and get it set up catch is they only load till 3pm and is about 45min. away, plenty of time right? 2 hours of driving later 1pm, you get to the unload spot to find any one of these problems: they take a late lunch, shift change, 10 trucks in line ahead of you, angry or retarded or both tow-motor drivers, they have to make room for your load or just don't care that you're there. So 2-3 hours later you are empty but at 3or 4pm you are too late to load your return load, so you are empty in a place you don't want to be with no load and $275 in your pocket. Now this does not all the time I just listed SOME of the things that have happened to me in the last several years, some days you could get loaded unloaded reloaded and be to the 2nd unload spot before supper time, but the screwed up days far out number the perfect days

I've prepared myself for all that and I got a program I plan on using to keep track of my expenses and everything so I can eliminate the accountant all together which means more money in my pocket.
