Heavy I need your help or opinion. I have a 2014 pro star with the navy star 13 engine. I bought the truck 2 months ago. It was sitting since mid december. I picked it up around mid April. I had to put new batteries in when I purchased it. No big deal. The problems in having is : 1) the a/c works intermittently. Its fine, idle the truck and when I get up the check engine light is on and the truck seems to be idling high like its doing a regen at which point it blows hot air. If I go down the road the check engine light goes off and the air comes back and runs normal. 2) sometimes my truck will degrade while I have a load on and I have to pull over and wait for 2-3 hours for the power to come back at which point the check engine goes off on its own. I work in the oil field so it costs time and money. The intermittent check engine light is making it hard to get it properly looked at.

The one box is probably clogged.

Heavy I also looked up or tried to at least look up my vin with the same website and it said that it couldn't be processed and that I had to call international. My VIN # is 3HSDJSNR7EN795250. I have a separate thread and need some guidance

Florida runner. I have a 2011 and it's a money pit. When my a/c starts blowing hot, I either pull over, shut truck off for a minute and let a/c reset or if you can reach fuse panel , you can pull fuse, wait a minute, put it back in and it'll reset a/c. There's also a filter below fuse panel for your a/c that might need to be changed. If you raise hood, on passenger side, there are 2 sensors that also might be bad. If you push the cruise control on button and cruise acceleration button ( YouTube this) , you'll be able to see what fault codes are causing check engine light to come on. This truck is easy to ruin engine, so be careful.

    floridarunner Thanks this.

Thanks a lot for the information. First and probably last international that I purchase. I will look up fault code. Didn't even know how to check it. So used to Volvo. Lol

I almost wonder if the engine fan isn't working and the engine is over heating which will cause your warning light, low power and stop the ac from working too. Your next step is to see what codes are getting logged.

The DPF behind the muffler is clogged. When they get clogged they can clog all the way tp the turbos and destroy the engine. It's a terrible design that nearly pt Navistar out of business.

    floridarunner Thanks this.
