You feared Covid according to most of your previous posts. Or you feared others not wearing masks or being vaccinated. It was probably all three.

Fight someone off with a random object. LOL. Ok. Guy has a knife or gun and all you can reach in your cab is a banana. What now?

I’ve said it before. You get no warning when the unexpected happens. I’d rather be standing over a dead thug rather than laying in a hospital bed wondering why I listened to crime statistics from some guy on truckers report and decided not to carry a gun.

Wonder why ALL those people that are getting randomly attacked in NYC didn't grab a random object? Tell all those people how statistically insignificant the assaults are that are happening almost daily.

 

It may be statistically unlikely, I still prefer not to become a statistic.

Not a stalker. You never answered a question I asked on Covid in a thread. Nor did anyone else because all the smart people all of a sudden became quiet.

Again, rather have it than not. What is so hard to understand about this? I may not get to it but I sure as hell want it available. Or should I take the non lethal route and talk to them about their poor life choices?

Oh I get the rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Just the risks out weigh the benefits in this case imo.

I have been attacked in a truck stop before
In early morning. I caught someone siphoning fuel. If I wouldn’t have had my weapon on me I probably would of got my skull caved in with a piece of pipe. Yeah no
I will not be someone’s victim. I carry the Burna if and or when a non lethal option is appropriate. Or to much risk or situations where an innocent person could get hurt.
I have been to cities to deliver that customers warn you not to stop at traffic signals. People hop on your steps etc.
crack heads, pimps and such. take it some have never been to downtown Philly, Newark, hunts point, or Chicago produce market that use to be downtown.
yeah nope. Been carrying in the truck for over 30 years pulled it twice. Both times my life was in serious danger.

 

And typical leftist dogeral. Answers questions with vauge assertations, insults, and deflections then flees when called out while in turn calling everyone that doesnt agree with them toxic. Oh well adulting, basic sense and the ability to issue any type of discourse is a dieing art. But hay ill happily stay here and be toxic if you want to leave im quite happy in this barrel with others who are just as "toxic" at least they are intersting to talk to.

 

Not an ubresionable argument. But my counter to that is that with increaseing crime rates, economy going around the toilet bowl, constant hate mongering, policer tolerance of crimes (see election riots ah la chaz as prime example), defunding of police, rampent inflation, extreme ease of crossing our borders, large scale theft of items from trains including guns and ammo, riseing costs of food any many many other issues. Paired with the public image of truckers carrying lots of cash left over from when we DID carry a lot of cash to buy fuel. And the relitive ease of theft and value of our cargos as well as how remote we can get the posibility of being attacked is higher then ever.

Having a way to defend yourself is just good ol basic sense. Sure i may never NEED my gun but i also will likely never NEED the first aid kit i keep in my truck, or the thermal blanket, or the food, or the cash for "oh ####" situations, or the 3 day go bag i keep and the like. But it sure is nice to have them if i need them. Same with a gun, do i FEAR getting attacked? No, but i also dont fear needing a first aid kit or being trapped for 8 days in a blizard in freezeing conditions or needing my 3 day bag. I just get ready for it happening, same as any other potential situation and keep the tools ill need handy.
