and that's the problem. this "i just need a gun" solution doesn't solve anything. more likely to cause problems. I really have no problem with gun ownership, i have family and friends that own them. as a hobby, by all means. this thread isn't really about guns, but that thing the op posted looks close enough it's more likely to get you shot than stop someone. it is a fear mentality. which is fine, fear is a fundamental driving force. we either wouldve gone extinct or be stuck in the stone age if it wasn't for fear. i've known several people that have had covid, one that died from it. almost everyone i know, knows more people that have had it and died from it. I don't know anyone that's been mugged, raped, or murdered. I grew up near chicago, went downtown pretty frequently. never had an issue. both parents are from detroit area, extended family still live there. never had any issues. had a cousin, 5'3" white female, lived downtown detroit and NYC, no issues. bullets don't work on viruses, so yeah, i'm more concerned about the masks and vaccines.

Again, doesn’t mean she won’t in the future. I didn’t think I’d have to defend my home in my nice neighborhood against an armed intruder….but it happened and I took his life. I slept VERY well after the smoke cleared and I was back home. Would it have been better to not be prepared in my decent neighborhood since home intrusions never happen here? I always did and always do feel safe here. Doesn’t mean I’m not prepared for the worst. I don’t do things out of fear. Never have. I do things that are right. Right by me. Right by my family.

A criminal life does not matter to me. Not one single itty bit. misdemeanor, felony…..doesn’t matter. If you harm, try to harm, or do anything to anyone or there property you deserve what you get. Even if that means your life. Even if it’s sneaking on my porch and stealing my snow shovel. Thats my shovel I paid for by working my ### off. It’s also my property that I pay for by working my ### off. I should and will feel safe on my property and my possessions will not be taken by anyone.

So, no. It’s not out of fear or feeling the need in certain areas. I’m prepared for the worst in any area at any time.

Thats a completely different argument. That same yahoo can grab the squeegee and use the stick to stab, bludgeon, rape or choke you to death. Drown you in the wash bucket. Beat you with the fuel nozzle. Most objects can become weapons in the right hands. So do we remove all of this stuff? What about the fists and feet? He could use those too. What do we do?
Can’t change whats coming for you. Just have to be prepared.

And if you are worried about the yahoo, don’t confront him. You move instead. Then his gun becomes a moot point.

Would like us to start picking apart your life and telling you what you do and don't need?
Are you afraid of the driver's with a 100lb German Shepard in the truck too? How about the guy with 2 of them? Properly trained they could kill you about as fast as a gun.

    Val_Caldera, Kyle G., tramm01 and 3 others Thank this.

Why are you against the fact I want to kill someone if they are trying to harm or kill me? Thats asinine.

Guns are meant to kill when the trigger is pulled and the shooter wants to kill. Guns can wound. Guns can scare. Guns can diffuse a situation without ever being shot.

I need a gun if the situation calls for one. Thats not up to you to decide for everyone.

Please enlighten me what solution do I have if I’m being shot at? Or attacked with a knife. Call for help and hope I’m not killed? Learn some martial arts? What self defense mechanism will stop a bullet? A knife? I should wait for the potentially unarmed police to show up and talk the guy out of it? Thats what you looney people want, right?

How are the defunded police cities doing by the way?
The cities where law enforcement is told to stand down? Has crime dropped? Have the criminals finally said “ok, we are ready to listen to your non lethal coaching on how I should not break the law? “

Do you love your mother? Apologies if you don’t have one or she has passed. Lets do it this way. If someone you loved was being gang raped or beaten severely and I was close by, would you want me to use my weapon to save them? Or would you want me to pass on by and let the pale, frail fella in the Covid mask intervene? He whizzes his pants and calls 911 but is so scared and frantic they can’t understand him. This scenario is drastic and probably won’t ever happen………. But it could.

Can you tell everyone you love you don’t want a gun or lethal method involved to defend or save them because there are other options?
