Good advice. I almost always fight the tickets and almost always get them reduced. Fortunately I don't get them too often anymore.
Most drivers don't fight them so they go after them and back off the ones that require a larger investment of time and money.
Occasionally they need to set an example and you are it. Nothing works in that case. I once paid a $400 fine to have a speeding violation reduced to an equipment violation in a four-wheeler to improper brakes. That was pretty expensive but I did the crime and I was protecting my CDL even though I wasn't using it at the time. The prosecutor told my attorney that I wasn't going to get off easy since I had a CDL she wanted me to understand how serious my offense was.
With attorney and court costs the most expensive was just under $600. Most cost $200 - $250, which makes them about the same as the original ticket with the additional attorney fees.
I missed the obvious don't get any tickets, it's so much easier than fighting or paying them. There are a number of drivers that are proof this is possible.
