Just do the best you can. The job will kick your butt a little when you're new but that's mostly your lack of experience in knowing how to deal with the various situations that will arise, including simply not knowing what's next and having to wait for somebody to tell you what's next. (I still hate that part, BTW.)

Try your best to make your deliveries on time. If you suspect the load will be late call them and let them know the afternoon prior and not the day of delivery. That tends to tick people off when you spring things on them last minute. This will be a challenge to communicate properly when you're out there doing you own thing and have many other things to worry about at the same time, and of course it is difficult because you're going down the road and shouldn't be talking or texting and aren't sitting conveniently at a desk, so keep that in mind. They will give you better loads if they know you can be trusted to hold up your end of the bargain.
