I'm finding that out!! Thank goodness I brought my powder along too, its just a pain to mix it up when I'm needed to jump in the drivers seat.

I actually have a 'need' for protein supplementation. I've have gastric bypass and can't fit in the amount of protein I need in solid form any more... not that I haven't tried - LOL!

If you need protein, a handful of beef jerkey will work. Its also very lean too.

LOVE jerky!! Expensive though for daily consumption... I also munch on nuts (which have been readily available at the T/S). I just wish they had veggies and yogurt at the T/S - LOL!

You might look at two things before you go downing alot of the muscle milk. Before I say anything else, Muscle Milk is tasty and good for the most part. First look into the heavy metals in it. There is aresenic and other toxic heavy metals in muscle milk. If you are an occasional drinker it would be okay, but as you indicate you need it for diet supplement, you might look at the quantity of it you are taking in. Unfortunately, heavy metals and protein seem to go together for what ever reason. I am not sure about it but you might look at the "old people" drinks like ensure and whatnot. May be an alternative.

Go buy yourself an electric cooler and stock up on those things at the grocery each week and the cooler will pay for itself in a matter of a month or so.

Protein shakes are a good supplement for you but as above someone said you have to be careful of what kind because they are all different and some are much better than others and you'll pay accordingly for them.

Most people on here don't like my diet/food advice, SO, take what I say however you wish to.

Generic protein drinks(meaning, the ready made ones in cans) are garbage, for the most part. If you're looking to have a protein drink, buy a bucket of pure whey protein powder(flavored is fine, although it adds some aspartame), and mix it with water. However, make sure to actually check the ingredients to make sure it's pure whey, and doesn't have soy added. You do not want soy added. Adding soy is similar to taking birth control pills in estrogen impact. But, it's easy enough to find pure whey protein.

Lady K and outerspacehillbilly Thank this.

What brand do you use and where do you get it? GNC is outrageous.

Actually, I have to do some more research. I've been using Kaizen from Costco, however, it has a small amount of soy. So, it's time for me to go looking around for a new brand.

Sometimes, it's easier to be ignorant, I tells ya. lol

Once I find a good one, I'll post it here.

    outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.

I use JBN-just be natural--all natural ingrediants +gluten free powder comes in 3 or 4 flavors--can mix w/whatever you want for liquid--milk juice water etc--
I only mix with water and then add fresh fruit--whatever is on hand--I carry a small blender in truck--doubles as a to go cup--dump in water--add powder(I add 1 egg)then usually a banana and couple of berries--1/2 cup of ice---hit blend button for about a minute and viola--300 calories breakfast--packed with protein and just about a day's worth of natural vitamins. The blender stay clean--gets put away and when I am done with the shake just wash out cup and your good to go--and If you are in a real hurry-they give you a pre-marked shaker cup with it--just add powder and drink of choice-shake and drinkl
Works real well--natural--plenty of easily digestable protein--and way better(for you) than any truck stop slop bkfst!!
    Just my $.02
