I am paying $4495 at Roadmasters ins SLC, Sage is $4995, but there is more one on one training while driving. Which is probably a good thing for most. I like to watch first then do. That works for me so I am going with Roadmasters with a couple of students in the truck with me. Good luck

Sage Henderson just upped their cost to $4995 - cost of fuel, mostly
Rob was there when I attended - he apparently just left, and now Bonnie is in charge.
Yeah, I had that issue with Brian too: "Ok, turn here". I suggested a little advance notice might be nice, and all was well after that. Other people talking at me don't bother me, since I focus on the driving first - if I missed something in the conversation, I either didn't need to hear it, or I can ask them to repeat.. no biggie.
Harley - just so you are aware - you DO 'watch then do' at Sage - but you watch the instructor the first time out. After that, it's pretty much all practice

I am looking forward to starting the training. I just put my money down for Roadmasters and will start Aug 18th in the night class. I still have to work while I train. I also have already started applying at trucking companies. I have called Andrus and Watkins/Sheparhd and they both said they would hire me out of training. I am looking at May Trucking as well. I want to get as many offers as I can and see which one best suits me. I was reading the thread on Create, and they sound like a good company, I call them and they said 4-6 months experience or go to SLC community college to get trained. I looked into that and it was less money, but more time. The whole PTDI thing is just a piece of paper saying you learned a certain way, but it seems like all the training is the same. Just like Lurchgs said, the company will do a test drive and see how you do. I will keep you all updated on how Roadmasters is. Thanks to all.

Crete must have changed their policy because when I was attending sage in henderson they prehired a guy in my class but he had a few years of driving a bus.

If they are an approved school then they will hire a student, but they have to be an approved school. Sage in CO must be one. The only one in Utah is the community college, which takes to long and I couldn't find any night classes for them. -
5000.00 dollars for a trucking school.i cant see paying that much for anything except a 4 wheeler...my school was only 1162.00..saved up till i had the funds and enrolled.

Well I did not pay one cent for my $ 4260.00 school training all I had to pay for is the gas to and from school.
The goverment paid for my school and probaly would of paid for some of my gas to and from.
But I told them when I got the money from them I would pay for my own gas.
I did not want to be like most of the other students there getting everything I was just happy to get the money for the training.
I was also working at the time so I could afford the gas it was just hard to do the job and school becasue the job started at 12:30 am and I would finish about 4:00am then try to sleep untill it was time to get up for school I would get home at about 6:00 pm from school and start the cycle all over again for 3-4 weeks
