If you have a vicious dog/s on your truck, please keep them on a leash. 2 times has my dog been attacked by someone who swears up and down that their dog/s are not harmful. My dog is always on a leash unless I'm specifically in a dog park or in an area that is away from other people and dogs. When someone wants to reach down and pet my dog, I always warn them that I do not know how she will respond so be careful. Let her come to you first. If she moves away, she doesn't want to be bothered.
Twice have pet owners allowed their dogs to roam the truck stops while they were a mile back behind them. Twice have these dogs seen my toy dog and went after her. My dog has no defense against a pitbull or german shepard. I'm at a point to purchase a pellet gun to carry around with me so when these dogs go on the attack against my dog, I will defend her.
Please keep your dog/s on a leash. They may seem like a harmful pet to you but can become vicious to other animals and people.
P.s. Clean up after your pet. They sell poop bags in the truck stop, at Walmart, and other stores. How hard is it to reach down and clean up after your dog? Most likely, you'll walk right past a trash can on your way back to your truck.
