With nights, I've noticed that you can either handle it, or you can't. Simply getting used to it is a long shot at best. Some people NEVER get used to it. I couldn't.

Further complicating matters will be the wife and kids who will demand you be on their schedule on weekends.

    Nightshift is for bachelors.

I run night all the time if it was not night I was neurotic. Stupid traffic.

I also survived the 80's where the logs dont mean a #### thing. Thankfully. Got about 3.5 million but with a number of accidents mostly due to traffic and a couple due to my learning.

That does not include waking up 40 feet from killing someone on a bike long enough to horse the rig away from the poor sob who just watched 8 of his 9 lives vanish. THAT was totally and utterly unnecessary.

Some of you wonder how I get away raging against bad dispatchers. I say this. Forget them. There are however a small number of dispatchers who understood me and my drive (Pun not intended) and count on one hand the number of them who did over the years. If I could box a dispatcher and carry him in the toolkit....

Hey Amigo, I'm certainly not trying to tell you what to do, you may love this job and that's cool. However, with five years experience there should be better opportunities out there paying very well. I've been where you are. I've had to check myself into the hospital because my body just started shutting down. And I am a very hard worker but that's not a way to spend your life. Just trying to help.
