FMCSA website has fines listed as 2,750 driver and 11,000 company. I've heard that the company only has to pay if they choose not to terminate the employee. I don't see an employer paying 11,000 to keep someone employed. But I could be wrong on that last part i'm just a lowly truck driver that gets his info from the petro fuel line and channel 19..motocross25, snowwy and austinmike Thank this.

well, he claims to be the employer as well as the employee...can he fire himself?Bean Jr. Thanks this.
-
then frankly, he could have just told you to have a safe ride, but i'd be suspicious of him taking down your information.

I'm not sure how he'd cover his pension if he did.
Agreed. Strange that he wrote down info but I would think if he was going to issue something he would have right then and there instead of playing red light camera and sending in the mail.
You might have just aggravated him by having your phone out and he decided to rattle your chain a bit. -
It’s called being skilled. I can steer, shift gears, and hold my coffee all at the same time. I’ve heard tell of a tabbacco chewer who could hold a cell phone in one hand and a spit cup in the other...all while driving a truck. OmgSirscrapntruckalot Thanks this.

I once saw a chick holding an ice cream cone and cigarette in her left hand; cell phone and steering wheel in her right; while trying to make a left hand turn and almost right into me.
Just cause someone CAN do it, doesn't mean they should. Just saying, not trying to start something.deathB4decaf, Sirscrapntruckalot and GreenPete359 Thank this. -
Maybe they’re going to call you as a witness for your pictures. Lol
Schoob Thanks this. -
Very true Nukem. Very true. I just wanted to point out it’s quite possible to snap a photo or short video while driving a semi & still maintaining your lane. I hope Gdog has seen the light. Lol
Nukem and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Oh I'm not saying that I haven't done my fair share of stuff as well... Just that common sense plays a factor. and as stated, taking a picture at 3 MPH, I'm pretty sure isn't going to kill anyone... but at 55+ MPH
yea well... Look at the trucking accidents forum and we can see how some of that stuff turned out.
