For the OP, as Big don said it's your ### that you have to cover. And is it really worth starting out and instantly getting a ticket before your first paycheck? Doubtful, but everything all comes down to what you want to do. No one else can force you to openly accept a job knowing that your hauling overweight and surely no one will pity you when you complain about the tickets.
Just my 2c.

Isn't this essentially the same question as keeping "creative" paper logs? Many times the company knows what is happening but if it hits the fan it is the driver's butt on the line.............

Just curious as to what exactly the load is? An oversize piece of trailer mounted equipment?
The company owner can get a permit for it, they are just too cheap. -
Makes me wonder if he crosses into New Jersey - I worked for a towing company in Limerick, PA and regular hauled a loaded, oversized landoll trailer across the Delaware and Comm Barry bridge... permits were astronomical!
-
That is a decision you will havra make if you have the b@lls run it if not turn it down just know its your ##### if you get busted

The trailer is a 48 foot non sliding tandems. Sides and top of the trailer are vinyl and can be opend. It's a special TV production trailer with a large LED screen on a hydraulic lift and has a large generator with fuel tank.

Sounds like big money, and a permit is easy enough to get - sounds like the boss is a cheap arse, and would rather risk your (new) license than pay a few bucks.
