Just my two cents....Rule #1)DON'T BACK UP IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO!! (Includes one 53'). Do a little research and I'm sure you'll find that ALOT of accidents occur while backing. Some drivers can back a 53 footer as easily as anyone else backs up their Buick Skylark. As far as backing up doubles, Rule #2...see rule #1 and multiply that by 10. I've tried it many times and I'm not an idiot. It's not about being lazy...it's about keeping your DMV, DAC, & JOB clean!!!! If you're super trucker than go for it. Perhaps you'll never scratch a thing. Most of us "human drivers" won't back a set of doubles. If you want to show off...go for it. Not me! I'm not skilled enough to back up doubles and I won't pretend to be.
