look up a program called freightpicker.com its a program that searchs loads, will give you a printout on the screen of the costs, best/worst loads.. and the best feature for choice is that you can have it autopick a load for you, so instead of sitting there hitting refresh, just leave your laptop open and running and it picks it as soon as its avail.

I'm still here I had to push it double time, The trailer I had was having some structural issues(it kept blowing tires), three of them!!!
Wow that will put you behind the ol' eight-ball. I'll make it and I have two loads setup one I pick up where I drop(did not know that when I picked it) going to Missouri then I pick the second load where I drop(REALLY I DIDN'T KNOW) worked out great!
Those two trips have a total weight of 37k lbs(25k,12k) which is good for fuel,it will pay me $1752 for about four days work.
I was informed by the "wife" that on my last settlement I averaged $1.57 per mile, but I did not drive very many miles if you remember I was off three days(still cleared 1800+).
So when I get a full week of running and a full week of expenses I will have a better "average" K. The first run is from the 8th to the 10th, second run is 11th to the 12th.
My fuel mileage is not what it was because of having to step it up to make delivery I'm still above six though. -
Oh ok now the blown tires put me in a time frame which I can't deliver my load(receiver won't take loads). They are giving tickets for driving around trying to find reroute!!! Oh well it's all the same shipper/receivers on the next two loads. I will be fine I'm parked up front at a big truck stop and I have you all to chat with.

OK good news was able to drop load at yard and have a load going out of York,PA to Port Washington,WI then to Paris,TX to New Century,KS so all in all it worked out.
Will go home for some much needed family time, miss my little guy's and the wife alsoThe Challenger Thanks this. -
Man o man have I had some fun this week!! I made about 4k but the picking jobs then rejecting them because of weight issues or delay for flooding and the system was going down for the weekend for the new setup.
I did manage to grab a load for Orlando,FL 941 miles paid me 1485.00 plus it weighed only 14,140, I then have a load picking up in Orlando going to Jacksonville that's as far as I got, gonna wait for Monday(load board reset's).
I had seen some loads going to Kathleen,GA and they were light loads so from there to Topeka,KS and then HOME!!! For about a week......maybe I might find a nice load and run it and come back.
Who knows but the fuel mileage is a lot better(6.47), and I was also not running as low on fuel as I thought, my fuel gauge is off by about 45-50 gallons!!!
I had a little over a quarter tank and was going to put in 125gals, so I started filling up, it clicked and was full clear to the top of the anti-siphon inserts at 100.55gals!
So I will be replacing and calibrating(ohms) a sending unit in the next couple of days, I will get my parts from the OC shop because the price will be half what I would pay anywhere else and of course cheap labor(ME).
WE ALL NEED TO TAKE SOME TIME TODAY TO PAUSE AND REMEMBER THOSE OF US WHO ARE NOT HERE TODAY. BECAUSE OF THE ACTS OF COWARDS WE LOST HEROES,MOMS,DADS,BROTHERS,SISTERS,COUSINS,G-PA'S,G-MA'S,AUNTS,UNCLES,NIECES AND NEPHEWS..... 10 YEARS AGO TODAY WHERE WERE YOU? THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT WENT TO WORK THAT DAY TO DO WHAT THEY ALWAYS DID, CHOOSING TO DO THEIR JOB AND BEFORE THE DAY WAS EVEN HALF GONE IT WAS ABOUT THEM CHOOSING WHICH WAY TO "GO"...TAKE SOME TIME. -
trucker43 Thanks this.

Well, well, well. Look who showed up daywalker, and you did'nt even have to put out a free buffet sign on your thread, lol.

I have heard the same thing about Florida hard to get a good paying load out, but Daywalker all in all it should not affect the end result much throughout your week good luck man keep up the good work also I think daywalker's $1.57 pm was what he averaged from one of his previous settelments atleast that's how I read it, not sure if that was the Florida run.Last edited: Sep 12, 2011
