It depends on how the truck was taken care of. If it's well maintained and a recent overhaul someone will pay. If it's got a million with no overhaul you better get it cheap because it's fixing to need a $25000 rebuild to do it right less any rear ends or transmission work. Bottom line miles are irrelevant if the previous owner fixed things when they broke and it's not ragged out

Looks like a few of us appreciate that workmanship. Lucky sob gets to drive it. Jelly. (Not often I get this...)

I wonder what origin steel that frame rails were. Do you know?

The pic is a on-site move. As you can tell, the load is way over height ( 20' I think I remember).

Yes, the lowboy is ours. Believe it or not, that lowboy is a 1953 model, built by McCord Heavy and Specialized Haulers. The neck is short and the mud flaps were removed for clearance. It's a mechanical neck and I can shim it down to about 6" off the ground. I can get deck height to about 14".

It depends more on the engine than the truck manufacture. Pete's have more than one engine option.

Most well maintained engines should give you around 1,200,00 miles or so before an inframe is needed but there is no telling for sure. Some go much farther and some need an inframe at 700,000.

Get a dyno done, check the maintenance records and receipts, do an oil sample, and have the ECM dumped to show what issues it has had in the past.

A used truck is always a bit of a crapshoot.

Okay my ignorance is going to show through big-time right now. Do they run Carfax big rigs? Or is it just a case that a good owner would have all his paperwork and receipts and such

Some of my old custom bike builds I would slam the frames down as low as I could to the ground. I would use a beer can pop can. put the can on its side and roll it under the frame if the can could go all the way under the frame from one side to the other then I had to go back and lower the frame a little bit more

Sorry everyone I truly did not mean to lead this thread a stray... Yes 6 give me a little while I will post some pics when I get back to the house it'll be later this evening. Little side note I don't know if anyone's ever seen the movie killing the Irishman the story of Danny Green in the seventies from Cleveland. Who basically chased the mafia out of Cleveland Ohio. Anyway back in 2010 they made the movie killing the Irishman they filled the large portion of it in Detroit. A friend of mine who was the location manager for that movie he's got a really cool job. Anyway to the point myself and about 7 or 8 of our other Buddies we're in that movie. With our bikes the true story goes that Danny Green had a run-in with the Hell's Angels in the seventies they had a clubhouse down the street from the first house him and his wife bought in Cleveland so anyway the director to the movie had us play the part of the Hell's Angels. In that movie I rode my 1966 TR6 650 tiger with a suicide shift ape hangers no fenders Bare Bones yeah that bike was one of a kind the seat on the bike was just the steel pan I had an old solo seat and I ripped off of padding and just rode around on the steel pan let me tell you that was hell on my kidneys especially when I rode it to the bar for a night of drinking. Again sorry not trying to hijack the thread . I'll get some pics up
