They're used to reduce assembly costs. Because they are dang sure only marginally reusable!IH Truck Guy, Rideandrepair and spsauerland Thank this.

Thanks brother really appreciate it was looking for a compression fitting. Guess I screwed up my measurements.
Rideandrepair, Oxbow and spsauerland Thank this. -
You measured correct, just NPT threads are kinda funky. If you subtract a 1/4 from your measurement it should be close to NPT size as a general rule.snowman_w900, Rideandrepair, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Thank you now I know.Just ordered that fitting.

Volvo carries those fittings, if you decide to replace just the o-ring you need to go to a o-ring supplier that will mic the o-ring and give you the right size.
-
Thanks boneehone I'll try to find a place that sells o-rings. Would be a great help.

I went to Parker store and got 1 of each size quick connectors for emergencies . About 5 or 6 fittings. They told Me take them no charge! I love the Parker Store

It is for sure the go to for hose assemblies. Plus, you never have to worry about quality. I have been in multiple different stores and the staff seemed knowledgable at all of them. As long as you know what you need. Stockage levels vary on brass. Plus they almost always have minimum orders if they dont stock it, which sucks. But hey, when you gotta have it......buy extras.Oxbow Thanks this.
