NO IT IS RUN BY THE GOVERNMENT THE "DO AS WE SAY AND NOT AS WE DO" they don't need any driving experience they just go around looking for the trouble and it normally is found right where they left it.

WTH is the "emergency cross tubing" and where is it located?
-
Maybe it would have helped if you knew how to properly cross scales.
Or when he told you to back up, it is usually to get your tandems on the scale properly.
I'm sure your company isn't to happy with an OOS violation.
Lesson learned I guess,
too bad a trainer didn't teach you the little tips and tricks.
Good Luck in the future, especially in califoornia.......... -
that is actually pretty childish calling a leo a pig---it is just a guy doing his job same as you--maybe he had a bad day--it happens--or maybe he was tired of people not knowing how to cross the scales--it happens as well
and now-how is it that you think the "tubing" isnt worn ,when you dont even know what it is?
and please dont tell me you have never crawled under your truck--how do you check things if you dont ever get underneath it?
you have only been driving 2 weeks grass hopper---you have much to learnmslashbar, end of the road and rocknroll nik Thank this. -
Unfortunately some DOT seen one dumb truck driver, they are all like that. No excuse for inexperience. Sounds like someone on a power trip. They don't realize each state is different.
Anytime you see a single platform, plan on stopping each axle unless you see something indicating it's a rolling scale like a 3 mph speed limit sign or a SLOW sign. Those go/stop lights are a good indicator they want you to stop. Just because it says go, might be because he's slow on the switch. Better safe than sorry, stop.
One thing I do is as soon as I get close, I point the driver's power mirror down where I can see the drives easy. Then they don't yell at you to back up.
Unfortunately any OoS will go on your record. You can pti and fix stuff, but you can't fix someone with a case of the ###. Drivers are going to have to be more thorough or risk an episode like that.
I had a Level 1 in San Diego once. Inspector used mirrors and the whole 9 yards. Told me to come inside and he handed me a ticket for no brake lights on the trailer. I go back out and wedge my logbook against the pedal and looked. They were working fine. I told the officer they were working okay. He said, "They weren't when I looked". Sometimes it don't matter what you do.rocknroll nik and scottied67 Thank this. -
Well since W&S is a hire newbies and then set them FREE type of company so this is how they learn.
Sad but a lot of Scale inspectors are a lot like that "SOUP NAZI" character that was on SIENFIELD
mslashbar and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
LEO... Pig... Nazi... It's hard to tell which one is running the scalehouse until you actually have contact with them. These are the things that help you form an opinion of law enforcement.
-
sooo should they autimatically think every driver is running 24/7 with coke falling outta his nose?
lots of times a little respect goes along ways--especially when they have you by the nads -
Go and look at Watkins CSA score too...
67.6 on vehicle maintenance... they know they can find something wrong, and a 21% out of service rate on all inspections. National average 22%.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
At least they're below average!
