Holly crap! Can't believe how these face cameras carriers want to make souless robots out of you. And that you agree to work with them is even harder to come to terms. But most of these career safety department people are idiots and career underachievers beyond belief. They actually believe that they have important public safety mission to accomplish. They actually believe that ELDs save lives. SMH. Go work for a local, no more than 50 truck company and love your life.

 

pretty reasonable that they gave you a option which would not have that on your employment record.

Wait a minute...So it applied to you and a few but others it did not? Well, I don't know how much they paid you but maybe it is time to move on. Don't ever volunteer their reason for termination. Maybe even try to convince them, by a legal persuasion, that this allegation must be dismissed. I mean, if you are certain you did not hold the phone. I mean, I see nothing wrong about holding a phone in your hand for a sec to answer or reject a call, or maybe double checking the address. It is no different from checking handwritten directions or finding an FM station or adding more coffee from a thermos but they have their own laws and rules where the circumstances are irrelevant. I'm just afraid that they can smear you as an unsafe driver which may make your future employment efforts more difficult.

Ok.....that's fine. Turning them down is a mistake because the most imprtant thing is to generate income. As I said, let's hope that this doesn't hold you back from continuing your driving career. An infraction like cell phone use while driving, greatly reduces your leverage.

 

You would have been better off to do that than to let them term you. You gave them too much power to potentially make your life a living hell.
