Thank you everyone for taking the time to let me know your experiences with Peoplenet. I have no difficulty with Qualcom so I expect Peoplenet will be just another system to learn.

In the summer time my peoplenet would literally shut down for about an hr at a time due to it overheating, of course it did a few times as I was coming up on a scale. Fun times

Bad CPU or its mounted somewhere it gets hot and not getting air circulation. Mines mounted in the sleeper in a cabinet.

I've messed with my dad's peoplenet and found it easy. I had to teach him how to use it since he does not work well with anything electronic. I still like DriverTech better out of them all, but really it's just a preference.

    Hi,
I'm a newbie to the forum and really appreciate and enjoy lots of the posts! I am a private O/O and haul a 50' single expandable mobile retail store around the Southeast. I typically only drive 5-6 hours before arriving at my destination where we set up for 1-3 weeks at a time before we move again. I drop the unit and take a 4-wheeler home that one of my employees drove down. I then drive back to get the rig when the shows over.

Given the short story above, I personally would like to move to an EOBR device and I have chosen peoplenet. I know they all have their pros and cons, but the biggest deal for me is I won't have anyone but myself controlling the front and back office aspects of the software. No dispatch, no one telling me when, where, and why. Just me.

Has anyone used the peoplenet tablet or new blu.2 device and how do you like them? What are some features that one device has that other doesn't.

Again, I don't run into drive time issues or anything like that, but would like the neater, detailed Elogs and the IFTA reporting calulation capabilities. Any info would be great. I've done paper and never had an issue, but would like to change. It's not a cost thing or effeciency thing, but just cleaner and more concise information and detailed locations.

    Thanks!

I've installed and trained drivers on both systems for 15 plus years. If these are your only two options, pick another career path. Qualcomm displays stayed powered up in the trucks, but all software upgrades are done manually. PeopleNet will not stayed powered up, but the software can be upgraded via cell signal. Neither IFTA reporting is worth the money spent.
