My typical week is about 2,000 miles. I'm dedicated to one customer and this is my first tanker job, after 20 years pulling vans. I can't claim I understand the landscape with tanker companies. My first impression is tanker, like flatbed, is running fewer miles than dry van but at a higher CPM. Fewer miles for the same money is less stressful, IMO. Customers treat you better than most dry van customers. About half of my customers do everything loading or unloading. About half of the customers that require me to do everything require me to wear the chemical suit to do my job. That's no fun. I'm dreading the Summers wearing a "sauna suit."

Sounds great man I'm thinking about making the switch as well

I went thru the QC training and after I was on my own for a awhile I wondered why I waited so long to go to tanks. Wouldn't do anything else. And yes the rubber suit is no fun but I don't wear it everyday either.
