I completed my registration online today and forwarded it to Quality Drivers for the truck driver school. They said I would hear back within 48 hours. It looks like they do a thorough background investigation. I don't expect any problems as my background is clear. I will update this again after I hear from them.

I watched alot of utube videos on my computer. There is alot on Celadon and it's positive info. They will feed you and house you while in school. Most people felt Celadon was the best choice for getting the CDL. Class goes from 8-5 m-f It's a big move but I think it will work out for us. We have to commit for a year and then we have options and can look forward to higher pay. It will be much better when we can get done with the trainer and go solo. Keep up the faith!! Thanks for the post Newbietrucker

Question for anyone who can answer it truthfully: once u finish celadon driving school , do u team up with someone to complete their 120,000 miles? Or do u go out with a trainer to get those miles done??
Any answer will help me out with these doubting questions. -
Hi Newbie-
I had the same question, as well as a few others, and sent 2 emails to Celadon and heard back from the manager of the school, Steve Vogel. He said that you go out with a trainer for 6 weeks after you get your CDL and then you team up with someone to complete the 120000 miles (take 6-7 months to complete) and after the 120000 miles you can go solo and this starts out at .33 per mile. So if you went solo and drove 12000 miles for the month (arbitrary number) your gross for the month would be $3960. The 120000 miles is paid at .15 per mile. So .15 x 120000 = $18000 and if it takes 7 months then you are making $2571 gross per month ($3000 per month if you can complete it in 6 months). BTW, the 6 weeks with the trainer are paid at $58/day ($406 gross per week). It seems that as time passes you get to make more $$$. I heard that with most companies your pay caps out in about 3 years so you could be making $55000 to $60000 per year 3 years from now. I saw a post (I think it was CRST) where they were looking for an experienced team (2 years of experience) and the pay was $55000 per year for each driver. Not too shabby!
I'm still waiting to hear on my application. They said 48 hours and it's only been 24. I should hear something back tomorrow. Hope the news is good! I'll be in touch.newbietrucker007 Thanks this. -
Its goes up your pay if u get your passport and move freight to / from Canada .
