Dont have good enough credit even if i did have that kinda money saved up would still have to have credit to finance the truck quality lease pays 75%of the load to the leassee plus unlike traditional l/p companies i get to choose what i want pete, freightliner, volvo, mack, international, that says a lot about them as traditional l/p companies force you to buy what they want you to and also quality lease also gived the option to buy tractor and trailer of your choosing ftom them whether reefer, dry van ,or flat bed

What's the monthly cost on a new cascadia?
-
Oh yes, we all know how that works. Most company drivers will never save up 30k, as they have to pay for their family. It's a chance to break that cycle, regardless of it rarely working. Some people need to buy that lottery ticket, and either win or lose, and move on. It's not hard to understand... really it isn't.Whobob, BoostedTeg and TruckerNerd Thank this.

It's called living within ones means and money management. A skill that every true O/O has if they plan to make it.Knucklehead Thanks this.

I agree with that. A lot of people don't live within their means. Millionaires go broke all the time; and many gain it back again. So skills and wisdom don't necessarily go hand in hand. The ones who have both are not usually looking up company lease purchase info. And many, myself included, make a good go of it when the opportunity meets with a fair deal.
My credit absolutely sucks, because my wife lost her job during a time that I was not bringing in a lot of money. The fault really lies in allowing ourselves to get in that much cc debt. I've been thru one bankruptcy, and have pondered another. That's not to say I wouldn't be a good o/o if given another chance. The lease purchase is the only chance I'd ever get, because of the inability of my wife and me to put away some serious money. If I had the opportunity to jumpstart a business thru a lp, I'm sure I would make it work... again, with a fair deal.Last edited: Sep 12, 2016

Everybody wants a new truck! Meanwhile they all have bad credit and no money.
Bad credit= poor money management = no cash on hand = one breakdown and they're done.
There are tons of trucks to be had cheap and can be paid off quick. Use it up and bank money for the next truck.
But drivers today remind me of my kids. They see dad driving a nice truck and they won't settle for anything less. They don't want to put in the hard work it took to get it they just want it now. Never mind I went through many pieces of crap over the years to get what I have. SMDHBoostedTeg Thanks this.
