? okay.... long as the chickens were used for food there was no harm.. I grew up on a farm and as a kid we raised chicken.. Sold the eggs to local mom and pop stores in the area.. Well we also killed roosters, plucked them and ate them... We killed them in the same manner these people are doing.. Tie a string on its neck somebody hold its feet and somebody swing an axe.. Man has been doing it that way for centuries and it is now barbaric? People are becoming such cry babies nowadays.. can't kill chickens anymore? what next????? nothing wrong with it long as they was using it for food...

I think its more about making it into a town lynching party thats the problem -
We would laugh as well, its hard not to.. you ever seen a chicken with its head cut off? that's where the saying "running like a chicken with its head off" came from.. once you cut the head off you better let go of the feet because its going to go everywhere... They actually would run sometimes... just nerves and reaction to having the head cut off
I remember one time where my sister did it for the first time and did not let go of the feet.. Again it was hard not to laugh at something like that.
Perhaps it may not be something city folk or even most people nowadays (because nobody raises chickens like that in America hardly anymore) have seen before and may think its sick... Its a way of life, it was they way of life and it probably is still the way in remote places such where they may live.. Barbaric? lynching mob? they simply have roosters to kill that are ready to be killed and eaten.. A little competition to see which one will go further while doing it is not barbaric...Last edited: Aug 20, 2008
