so I was watching wwe last night and this guy Braun strowman was thrown into a garbage truck. The kind where they manually load it into the back of it. And they turned the moving thing on the back on. Does that crush the garbage or just move it. Here's the link to the video of when it happened I'm pretty sure it was fake but just wondering if he really got crushed

Wrestling is and always has been fake. Even Vince McMahon has admitted it is scripted and they are in the entertainment business not the wrestling business.

Well i cant verify it was here, the truck does not "crush" anything. It has a limited capacity where trash is pushed into. When reaching near capacity, it will compact trash in order to fit it more densely into the same volume. In other words, if it wad empty, or near empty, he would theoretically be pushed into a empty void where trash would be if it was full...
Think of it like steping into a trash can, if the trash has air space, you will compact it as to fit more... its a really big foot.

The truck has a double action hopper sweep. It curls the trash first, then draws it up into the body of the truck. The body has a steel blade on a hydraulic piston that pushes from the front to the rear. As the trash is drawn in to the body, the trash is compacted on the blade (or on trash that's already there), until enough pressure exists to move the blade slowly forward in the body filling the truck. However, none of this matters for the video you posted. You can see before they activate the sweep, the guy who was "dumped" climbs up out of the way and into the body of the truck. These systems are heavy steel and not forgiving. I have crushed small boats, 8" palm trees, ride on lawn mowers, and even know of someone who was dump enough to leave his arm in the way. Not just a broken bone, but skin and muscle peeled off the bone and scarring and disability for the rest of his life.
