Yes it does work the same in all 50 states it is called do process under the law and you can take ANY charge to a judge to decide Innocent or guilt !yes it each state can put a process to get there but if the person charged wants it WILL go before a judge to decide

I really do appreciate all the info here
Ok a couple of clarifications -
This was at the intersection of St Phillip & Calhoun
It was a pretty tight intersection
The cop did not see the accident
The woman apologized to him several times afterwards - he was checking his mirrors but additionally had to be watching the front end too - she pulled up too close while he was turning not before he was moving
He's been driving (trucks) for almost 10 yrs with no accidents or tickets so its not like he is habitually careless
Thanks -
This intersection?

Then don't be so quick to tell someone else to "just plead guilty" -
Grumpy,
Thanks for the supporting documentation. MN Driver it is not a misdemeanor criminal charge in the sense you're thinking. It will show up as a traffic violation, not a criminal violation. Can you provide the charge he was given. It will most likely be improper turning or failure to yield right of way. -
Why fight a $200.00 ticket when the odds are stacked against you simply because you drive trk.Unless it can all be done over the phone or online. But pleading your case in court,is it really worth the hassel? You have to go back to the city where this happened and chances of getting there driving a trk is slim unless you wanna take your hometime there.

Yes - that is the intersection he was on St Phillip turning right onto calhoun
-
No you don't have to b there a lawyer will handle it .the odds are not stacked against you because it is a truck . and why have that on your record if it was not your fault these people where passing on the right which is not allowed in most states
