That is an option. Running your own tags and or ifta is also an option. The nice thing about being on your own tags is that if your lease ever gets canceled for any reason, you can drive the truck between “jobs” without any hassle or need for special permits.

That makes no sense. They don’t need the truck, they need you to sign it and they sign it, the truck can be added after the contract is signed, just did this for a couple trucks with a new carrier.

See here is the disconnect, others forgot to mention you can’t get apportioned plates without an authority or a lease contract with a carrier. Without the contract from a carrier, you don’t get the plate.

By the way, they have to send you a contract to review as part of the regulations, if they want to play games, find antother carrier to work for.

I am. I thought I temporarily fixed it but nope. Still persists. So I'm juggling 2 cluster####s at once.

Get your own plates from your home state where your business is incorporated. Reason being that if you leave this place for whatever reason you have their plates. You leave on bad terms they can be spiteful and not be human and not let you drive home with their plates and let you mail them back to them. They can strand you saying I want my plates. Keep yourself in control.

When I told my carrier I needed the contract to get plate they emailed me one. If they are not willing to give an advance copy maybe that's a sign of worse to come.

    Why?

Nothing is more stressful then you stressing yourself out.

Get the shop where you are at (I think you said you were at a truck stop) to replace the entire air dryer unit.

And get ready to replace the compressor, the rings are worn and oil is blowing through the compressor to the air dryer.
