No one in their right mind would run those stupid US HOS in Canada. Should have a breathalyzer attached to your keyboard

Can you even do that legally? In Canada isn't part of the HOS a requirement to be off 24 hours every 14 days or such? In the US HOS, one can work 365 days straight a year with no legal issues.

    tinytim Thanks this.

Yep, there are a few cases where you can be US compliant while in violation of Canadian rules.

If you only took a 34 hour reset after 70 hours, you could be in violation in Canada as we require a 36 hour reset.
US drivers are subject to Canadian law while in Canada.
That’s the way it works around the world. You are subject to the laws of the country you are currently in.
Being a U.S. citizen doesn’t make you special.

Yeah but we can drive longer hours and only need 8 consecutive hours off. We can take the other 2 off either with the 8 or in blocks of at least 30 minutes each. No stupid mandatory 30 minute break either.

    Jazz1 and uncleal13 Thank this.
