In my state they have 6 endorsements for CDL licenses. Code T for Double and Triple Trailer Code P for Passenger Code S for School Bus Code N for Tank Vehicle Code H for Hazardous Materials Code X Tanker and Hazardous Material Combinations My question is, I can understand using the Code letters for all of the endorsement except one. Why do they use Code N for Tank Vehicle? Thanks. I'm just starting out.
Because T is already taken..... Could be as simple as some bureaucrat tossed a dart at the wall and hit the letter N.
This is absolutely true!!! I had a government job once and their codes for what they stood for. My superiors would joke all the time about the codes given years before for the organizations and preciouses those codes stood for. They were just chosen out of the blue without any thought given to them.
what he..........^^^^^^^^^......said like in my state, i have a motorcycle "restriction" on my license, and they use the letter.."H"....... cuz "M" is used for manual transmission....... which worked out fine for me, i had Honda motorbike......
What’s the best way to study and commit these endorsements and other CDL license information to long term memory? I’m studying the manual now and it’s a bit of a challenge.
Well, if ya wanna be a Truck Driver, you can probably start by kicking out Passenger and School Bus, so then ya only got 4 codes to worry about for now. Seriously, worry about the stuff that really matters, especially that Pretrip routine. Thats the hard one, and if you do it every day of your working life as a Truck Driver, you'll save yerself a lot of problems and trouble.
"X" is haz tank, which you can drive Non-Haz tank also. "N" is non-haz tank only. "N"= Non right ? Now you know.
Everything you need is in the manual. For a change and some sample test questions etc, do an online search. Unlimited information will be at your fingertips.
