Yeah, im not for sure about centrals approved list. Have you tried watkins and sheoard? No trainer. You take a hard 10 day crash course and then roll out on your own. Something to give thought too.

I had heard of them, had not checked them out. I have a big long list of companies, they are on there. LOL. The other day while running errands on the other side of town for school I was driving the interstate with a voice recorder so I could record all the names of the trucks that I saw so I could research them. Thanks for the reccommendation.

You do not have your license yet, and are concerned about taking your wife on the road from day 1? Once you do get your license and hopefully find a job, do you realize that operating a semi is a bit different than getting in the car and going on vacation? First you are working. Second, as a brand new driver there is a learning curve to becoming a professional. Also, is your wife aware of the hours of boredom from the passenger seat?

Yes, I am concerned about taking her. Yes I realize it is different then going on vacation and I'll be working. I realize there is a learning curve involved. I have family in the trucking industry, I know how it works. She is aware of it, but do you realize that it is not about the bordem, it is about being together, which is what we want.

I get all that. You have not obtained your CDL yet. I have had my license long before they became CDL's it was a class1 back then. Been at this game many years. I know what it is like on the road. Just putting facts on the table. Hope it all works out for you.

Slant. I got ya. I appreicate the help. I didn't mean to come off as rude. I know you are trying to help and I am just some noob. But with the situation that we are in right now financially, might be the only option that I have is to take her with me. I just don't want to go into all the finanacial reason stuff because we all have our issues in one way or another, but I need that rider policy to be there, just in case we might need to stay in the truck a while, if you catch my drift.

Thats what we did. My wife cooked and cleaned.. i made sure to have a laptop,tv,video game and all the books she could read. Anytime we went on a 34 or layover, we found something to do as a family. We lived out there and saved our money. When we came home, it was for 4 days at most, so we just stayed at our parents. We reached our goals and got to where we are today.

Check out Panther expedite straight trucks . You can solo right out of school but most fleet owners want teams . Your wife will love the comfort of the larger sleepers .

Dark Majesty: Thanks for the advice. That is where I want to be, getting out of debt and saving money to build my dream home. OTR will allow me to do that by living out of the truck.

RickG: Thanks. I will check them out. I really have my heart set on OTR, but honestly I will take anything at this point.

Expedite is OTR . Most drivers stay out 3 or 4 weeks then take a week off .
